About Charmaine
Charmaine Anthony’s (owner of Blue Line Dog Training) commitment to enriching the lives of her clients and their animal companions through behavior counseling and training is supported by a strong foundation in science. As a graduate of the Karen Pryor Academy for Animal Training & Behavior (KPA) with distinction and a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA), she is dedicated to understanding the humane and ethical processes for training and modifying behavior.
Her journey into this field was led by volunteer work at local Oak Park and Chicago animal shelters beginning in 2001. In 2006, she accepted a position with The Anti-Cruelty Society as Coordinator of the School of Dog Training. A multifaceted role, Charmaine oversaw the registration, scheduling, and finances to The School, and was able to help the community and animals in a greater capacity through behavior assessments, meet and greets with owned dogs and shelter dogs to assess compatibility, and by answering calls on the behavior helpline. Charmaine has also had the opportunity to foster dozens of different dogs, providing them with a quiet home, consistency, and for some of the more sensitive dogs, behavior modification preparing them for life in their new home.
